Virtual World Airways

My interest in flight and its history was sparked during international travels with my parents as I was growing up, circumnavigating the globe twice by the time I was a teenager. We flew mostly on Pan Am and I remain an ardent fan of the former aviation pioneer of global passenger flight. When I learned about a high school alum at Villa St. Jean, St. Antoine de Exupéry, a legendary mail pilot famous for his book The Little Prince, I became even more passionate about early aviation pioneers and the people who brought flight to the greater world.

This site presents opportunities for others to enjoy the kinds of journeys people took during the early days of mail and passenger flying through virtual, abbreviated "flights" created in Microsoft Flight Simulator. Following your flight, you will be able to use Google Earth to explore the remote regions to which you traveled, enjoying scenery and local shops. In the Flight Shack, you can find some of the books, film, and art and that provide me daily inspiration as I develop my virtual flight catalog.
